Star Field will receive two new expansions and numerous improvements next month as part of a huge content update, but from Bethesda’s point of view, it’s not a “2.0” version of the game.
Speaking during a Q&A session at a digital preview event attended by TechRadar Gaming, Star Field lead producer Tim Lamb discussed the game’s new announcement Terran Armada extension and updating of free routes.
Terran Armada will add brand new premium content, while the Free lanes The patch, which will be available to all players, will introduce an exciting new cruise mode and finally allow players to travel between planets within systems while spending time inside their ship.

This feature in particular is something that players, myself included, have wanted since the game launched in 2023, and it will come with a host of quality of life improvements.
When asked if Bethesda considered this huge content update “Star Field 2.0″, Lamb replied “No”, but believes it is the “best version” of the game the studio has ever made.
“No, I wouldn’t call it ‘2.0,’” he said. “We’ve been gradually improving many systems and adding substantial content, and I think this is the best version of Star Fieldbut “2.0” isn’t really how I would describe it. »
Lamb said other improvements include adjustments to outpost resource management, which will add a shared outpost container and other small improvements, and more, which were “driven by feedback from our internal teams and outpost-focused stakeholders.”
Finally, the open-world game, previously exclusive to Xbox, will also arrive on PlayStation 5 on the same day as Terran Armada And Free lanes release.
The PS5 version will also include console-specific features for the DualSense wireless controller and offer two PS5 Pro-exclusive graphics modes: Performance Pro Mode and Visual Pro Mode.
