The first snowfall and rain of the winter season were recorded in various mountainous areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.

Rains and snow continued to lash upper parts of the country on Thursday as the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a weather alert.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in various areas over the next 12 to 24 hours.
An alert was also issued for possible snowfall and landslides in northern areas.
The public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures in areas prone to landslides.
A persistent spell of unexpected, heavy and unusual rains continued to lash Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the third consecutive day on Thursday, while causing temperatures to drop sharply and disrupt daily life across the state.
