The Aarke coffee maker is one of the best drip coffee makers we’ve tested here at TechRadar, and it’s just gotten a chic new look with a soft matte finish called Sand. It makes a refreshing change from industrially-sourced stainless steel and will fit particularly well in wood and earth toned kitchens, both of which are “set to dominate” this year, according to our colleagues at Ideal Home.
“Color is calming,” says Richard Davenport, CEO of luxury kitchen design firm Davenport Kitchen and Home. “We see fewer bright whites or cool grays and a lot more mineral tones that change gently with light.”
When we reviewed the Aarke coffee maker (which can be connected to a grinder to create a complete coffee system), our tester Chris Rowlands called it a “stunning” and “distinctly premium” machine that “brews in style.” He praised its clean lines and streamlined controls, and noted that it “makes a statement on any countertop.”

His only complaint about the original stainless steel coffee maker was that its shiny surface tends to show fingerprints, but that’s not a problem with the new Sable finish, which keeps your appliance looking pristine.

The Aarke coffee maker is not only attractive; it’s also a great coffee maker with thoughtful features, including a grind size guide on the bean hopper lid that helps you dial in your grind, a non-drip valve that prevents coffee leaks once the carafe is removed, and a smart warming plate that keeps your freshly brewed coffee hot and senses when the carafe has been removed.
The Aarke in Sand Coffee Maker is now on sale in the US for $400 and available for pre-order in the UK for £300, where it will begin shipping in May. It’s not yet available in Australia, but the coordinating Aarke kettle is on sale for AU$399.
