Marvi Malik, daughter of PPP senator Sherry Rehman, dies at 35

KARACHI:

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sherry Rehman’s daughter Marvi Malik died on Sunday at the age of 35 following a brain hemorrhage, the family said.

She was being treated at a private hospital in Karachi, where she was admitted five days ago. His condition deteriorated three days before his death, requiring ventilation.

His funeral prayer is scheduled for Monday at 3:30 p.m. at DHA Phase 8, Karachi, followed by burial at a local cemetery.

President Asif Ali Zardari offered his condolences, praying for his forgiveness and for the family to bear the loss with strength.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the death of a child is an “indescribable grief”, offering his sincere condolences and praying for his high status in the afterlife and for his patience with the bereaved family.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also expressed his sadness, offering prayers for his forgiveness and elevated ranks in the afterlife. Sindh Chief Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the sudden death as devastating and offered condolences to the family, praying for their patience and resilience.

PPP leader Shazia Marri said the news left her “deeply saddened and in shock”, calling the loss “irreparable”. She expressed sympathy for the family and prayed for the upliftment of Marvi Malik in the afterlife and for her loved ones to have the strength to bear the grief.

Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab described the news as “extremely sad” and extended his sincere condolences to Sherry Rehman and her family. He prayed for Marvi Malik’s forgiveness and elevated status in the afterlife, as well as for patience towards the bereaved family.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep grief over the loss, calling it “unbearable” and offering prayers for Marvi Malik’s eternal peace.
