Dar calls for de-escalation, diplomacy in talks with Malaysian foreign minister, EU vice-president

Since the start of the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran, Pakistan has intensified its diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stressed the need for de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy to address current challenges in phone calls with Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad bin Haji Hasan and EU High Representative Kaja Kallas.

Since the outbreak of conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, Pakistani leaders have stepped up diplomatic efforts to help ease regional tensions.

Dar held telephone discussions with his counterparts from several Gulf states and other countries, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and advocating for dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the principles of the United Nations Charter.

During his meeting with Malaysian Minister Hasan, the two leaders reviewed recent developments in the region and the broader international context.

They stressed the crucial need for dialogue and diplomacy to address current challenges, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both leaders agreed that peaceful solutions must be a priority to ensure regional stability.

Separately, Dar also spoke with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, exchanging views on similar regional concerns.

The discussion reaffirmed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, with the DPM emphasizing the need to continue efforts to defuse tensions.

The two leaders agreed to remain in close contact regarding developments, thereby reinforcing their shared commitment to peace and stability.
