- Apple TV has shared an intriguing teaser for its new series, Widows Bay
- The first three episodes will be released on April 29
- Widows Bay follows a skeptical mayor who refuses to believe his town is cursed
Widows Bay is already shaping up to be one of the best Apple TV shows in my opinion. A sneak peek of the new horror-comedy series was shared on March 24, and I can’t help but compare it to Twin Peaks.
The teaser, while short, was more than enough to maintain my interest. Filmed in 4:3 format like an old VHS, we see a man inviting us to show us around Widow’s Bay, before walking away. We follow him for what seems like a very long time while upbeat music plays, but something is wrong.
Eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that you can slow the video down to 0:59, and there’s something hiding beneath the static. See for yourself…

What do we know about Widow’s Bay?
Widows Bay was created by Parks and Recreation writer Katie Dippold, edited by Hiro Murai. Murai is known for his work on HBO Max Barryas well as directing music videos for stars like Childish Gambino.
This disturbing town is full of secrets and rumors, but its skeptical mayor refuses to believe claims that the place is cursed. Of course, that’s a recipe for disaster, and in six episodes we’ll find out exactly why he’s wrong.
Apple TV shows have always been great, with Breakup And Pluribus being up there with my favorite shows of all time. So seeing them take on a horror comedy like this has definitely caught my attention, and I’ll be tuning in as soon as the episodes come out.
We’re getting a three-episode release on April 29, so if you’re a binge watcher like me, you can dive right in. Subsequent episodes will then be broadcast weekly.
I’m counting the days until I can learn the truth about Widows Bay.
