Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Chinese embassy in the diplomatic enclave. Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong welcomed Minister Naqvi upon his arrival at the embassy.
Discussions during the meeting focused on counter-terrorism, security cooperation, police exchange programs and other key issues. The overall regional situation was also discussed.
To address the security challenges faced by Chinese investors in Pakistan, it was decided to organize a business conference.
- In the first phase, meetings will be held with the Chinese business community currently in Pakistan.
- During the second phase, meetings will be organized with investors interested in investing in Pakistan.

A special protection unit is being created to ensure the safety of foreign nationals, the Interior Minister said.
- The Special Protection Unit will ensure security of Chinese citizens in Islamabad, Naqvi added.
- During their training, Special Protection Unit personnel will also learn the Chinese language, he said.
A day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese Ambassador HE Jiang Zaidong at the Prime Minister’s House to discuss Pakistan-China economic ties and ongoing bilateral projects including CPEC 2.0 focusing on agriculture, industry and infrastructure. The Prime Minister congratulated the Chinese leaders on the successful conclusion of the ‘Two Sessions’ and thanked them for their warm greetings on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
Ambassador Jiang expressed China’s appreciation for Pakistan’s resilience and reform efforts, pledging continued support in trade and investment. The two sides recognized the progress made in strengthening bilateral relations, reaffirmed the “All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership” and looked forward to marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations through high-level engagements, while emphasizing regional stability and close coordination on issues of mutual concern.
