Prince William appears increasingly worried about his cancer-stricken father, King Charles, after the latest update on his health caused serious concern at the palace.
The Prince of Wales, who has been given more senior duties from the palace, is fully aware of the royal place in the family, but he also cares deeply for his father.
King Charles, along with Queen Camilla, were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales for Nigeria’s state banquet last week, with William expressing concerns about the monarch’s health at the time.
However, he was quickly stopped by Camilla. According to an insider cited by CloserWilliam “did not feel that Charles was not good enough” for the engagements.
“William wants his father to slow down and take a step back,” the source said. However, every time William spoke about it, there was a sense that Camilla was “encouraging Charles to continue his duty, especially at a time when the family is receiving so much criticism.”
The heir to the throne believes that his father will improve if he is allowed to rest properly.
“It’s very upsetting for him because he sees how quickly his father Charles is deteriorating and he feels completely powerless to do anything,” the source noted, adding that Camilla is “blocking him at every turn.”
Meanwhile, King Charles is “incredibly proud” and he wants to keep it going as long as he can. Although William admires his father’s trait, he believes there must be a limit.
