The Commercial Banking Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested two individuals and recovered thousands of fake US dollars in Karachi, as part of a crackdown on counterfeit currency.
According to Express News, the FIA search team conducted an operation in Saddar area, where it apprehended two suspects involved in illegal trade of fake dollars.
During the raid, the team seized 4,500 fake US dollars.
Authorities revealed that one of the suspects, Qadir Raza, was waiting to provide counterfeit dollars to a party. Following his identification, another suspect, Naeem Ahmed, was arrested near Water Pump.
The arrested suspects have been detained and further investigations are underway. Efforts are also being made to apprehend the main supplier of counterfeit money.
