LAHORE:
PIA has finalized preparations for its pre-Hajj flight operations, which are expected to begin on April 18 and continue till May 21, official sources told The Express PK Press Club.
During the initial phase, flights will be operated to Medina and Jeddah to facilitate the journey of pilgrims for Hajj. PIA plans to transport more than 60,000 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia via 202 flights.
Of this, around 49,000 pilgrims will travel under the government’s Hajj scheme, while 11,000 will perform Hajj under private arrangements.
PIA will operate direct flights from several cities including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Quetta, Faisalabad and Multan.
