Ohio State fans celebrated winning a national championship for the first time in over a decade in the only acceptable way: storming the field.

No, Buckeyes fans didn’t celebrate with Ohio State on the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Instead, after overcoming Notre Dame To win their first championship since 2014, Ohio State fans stormed their own stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

A video shared by the Columbus Dispatch showed a large crowd of fans running around campus right after Ohio State held off Notre Dame to earn a 34-23 victory. According to the outlet, it was just after midnight when the crowd broke into “The Shoe.”

“It’s really surreal,” said freshman Thomas Schmansky. told point of sale students heading toward the field at Ohio Stadium.

Another student told the newspaper that the celebration was “crazy,” and added that she was surprised by the “support” of law enforcement on campus.

According to the report, the celebrations began to wind down around 12:20 a.m. ET.
