Eight terrorists killed in North Waziristan (ISPR)

ISPR says operation proves abject failure of Afghan Taliban regime to secure effective border on its side

Security forces killed eight terrorists in North Waziristan on April 1, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation targeted a group of “khwarij” affiliated with the India-backed Fitna al Khwarij network. Fitna al Khwarij is the state-designated term for the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to the ISPR, the movement of terrorists along the border was detected by security personnel, who then attacked the terrorists with precision, and “arms and ammunition were also recovered”.

The ISPR said, “This commitment once again vindicates our repeated stance regarding the abject failure of the Afghan Taliban regime to ensure effective border management on its side. They must fulfill their obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by the khwarij and the involvement of their citizens in terrorism inside Pakistan.”

The statement added that disinfection operations are underway to eliminate all terrorists remaining in the area. The statement underlined that the anti-terrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” vision, approved by the Supreme Federal Committee on National Action Plan, will continue in full swing.
