Confident Chiefs bettor bets $1.3M on Kansas City to beat Bills in AFC Championship showdown

One daring bettor hopes history repeats itself when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game this weekend.

The Chiefs are chasing the first ever treble and one optimistic sports bettor believes – with complete confidence – that they can secure a victory over invoices on Sunday afternoon, the same way they did in the 2021 AFC Championship Game.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, a $1.3 million bet was placed on the Chiefs moneyline (-130). The total payment would be $2.3 million.

The Chiefs are currently favored to win by -1.5, while the Bills’ moneyline is +114.

Judging by history, the Chiefs are the safe bet.

Patrick Mahomes and company have appeared in seven straight AFC Championship games. They have won four of the last five games and have won three Super Bowls, including two in a row. They now look to become the first team in NFL history to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy in three consecutive seasons.

“Obviously you want to win three in a row,” Mahomes said, “but building those memories with the guys and with the community every year is special. When I think back to all the different Super Bowls we’ve won, I think back to the special moments that we have experienced and to the special matches that we have experienced. We will try to do the same this year.

The rivalry between the Bills and Chiefs has seen three of Buffalo’s last four playoff series come to an end thanks to Kansas City. The first came in 2021 in the AFC Championship Game, the following year, a heartbreaking overtime loss in the Divisional Round, and again last season, another close loss in the Divisional Round.

But 2025 could be the year of the underdogs if the Bills keep up what they did in the regular season.
