Newly released body camera footage showed the immediate aftermath of Tiger Woods’ car crash in Florida last week, which resulted in the golf legend’s shocking arrest for drunk driving.

Woods was involved in a two-vehicle accident in which his car rolled onto its driver’s side, forcing him to escape through the passenger door.

The 15-time major champion was charged with driving under the influence, despite showing “triple zeros” on the breathalyzer. Woods was found with pills in his pocket, a moment which was caught on camera.

The pills, which were later identified as hydrocodone, a prescription opioid for pain relief, were originally found in Woods’ pocket. Woods previously told law enforcement before field sobriety tests that he had seven back surgeries and “over 20 leg surgeries.” He told law enforcement that “I take a few” prescription medications.

In 2021, he had an accident that left him with serious leg injuries that kept him from playing golf for the entire year.

A female deputy is shown with her finger in the air as Woods, while gasping, tries to follow him with his eyes. Woods sat on the bumper of a vehicle during the test.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by PK Press Club Digital, deputies with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office reported observing several signs of impairment at the scene, noting that the golf legend was “sweating profusely” and his movements appeared “lethargic and slow.” Law Enforcement conducted field sobriety tests based on their suspicions. Woods was instructed to remove his glasses, and the deputy conducting the tests said his eyes appeared “bloodshot and glassy” and “extremely dilated.”

In one video, Woods, on his knees, told a deputy that he was looking “at my phone, and all of a sudden, boom.”

The officer then appeared to pat Woods on the back before telling Woods that a doctor would “check you out.” The officer said he “didn’t feel anything” behind Woods’ back. The officer then spoke to a passerby who said Woods “hit the trailer.” The officer then went to the struck driver, who told him he was fine.

“I was getting ready to turn,” the other driver said. “And he was coming fast. I don’t think he was looking, is that.”

The driver said Woods hit the trailer attached to the back of his vehicle. The officer then ordered cars traveling on the road to turn around as they were preparing to close the road.

ESPN STAR STEPHEN A SMITH RIPS TIGER WOODS AFTER DUI ARREST: ‘YOU’RE LUCKY YOU DIDN’T KILL SOMEONE’

Friday’s arrest marked Woods’ second arrest for drunken driving in the past decade. In 2017, he was taken into custody, also on Jupiter Island, after taking prescription drugs and falling asleep behind the wheel of a moving car at 3 a.m.

Woods, who was possibly in contention for his sixth green jacket next week, announced Tuesday that he would not yet return to the golf course and would instead “seek treatment” after the accident.

“I know and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. I am taking some time off to seek treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work towards a lasting recovery,” Woods said in a statement posted on social media Tuesday. “I am committed to taking the time necessary to return to a healthier, stronger and more focused place, both personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support, and I ask for privacy for my family, loved ones and myself at this time.”

Woods has pleaded not guilty to DUI. He was also charged with property damage and refusal to submit to an examination.

The accident came just days after Woods made his return to some aspects of competitive golf after rupturing his Achilles tendon last year while playing in the TGL final on Monday. The accident happened 13 days before the Masters, which Woods will now officially miss. It was not yet known whether he would play before the accident.
