The Pakistan Tax Bar (PTB) has expressed reservations over the FBR’s legal issues, saying the revenue collection authority is filing unnecessary tax cases. In a letter written to Prime Minister Shehzab Sharif, the PTB said that the revenue collection authority is filing unnecessary and weak cases, which amounts to discouraging taxpayers. Tax cases are pending in courts and other platforms. The PTB demanded that the government set up a steering committee to review tax files. With the creation of the steering committee, tax files will decrease by 50 percent, the press release added.
