Imagine Jenna Ortega in Hereditary. Scary, right? Also…almost real.
THE Wednesday The star just made a surprising confession while chatting with Kid Cudi on his podcast – she auditioned for Ari Aster’s now-iconic horror film when she was just 12 years old.
“I think I auditioned for Hereditary, which obviously wouldn’t make sense, especially given my character as a child, so I figured it out,” she said.
She didn’t even have the full script – just a few mysterious pages.
“I didn’t know what I was looking at… it was like two pages of disturbing words that went over my head at the age of 12,” she explained. Yet something clicked: “I feel like this is an important film. »
She wasn’t wrong.
The role ultimately went to Milly Shapiro, while Toni Collette directed the film – and horror history was made.
Watching it later in theaters, Ortega came full circle: “That’s the one I said he would be in.” »
But a refusal? Never his villain origin story. “I never really question it…what’s supposed to be mine will come to me.”
In fact, she almost stopped playing altogether – until YOU arrived. On set, an experience, and suddenly, “Yeah, I can’t let this go.” »
Fast forward, she’s now booked, busy…and finally learning how to cook.
Hollywood almost lost her. Imagine this horror story.
