The answers to today’s Strands, game #769, are…
- BERET
- SOMBRERO
- DERBY
- MELON
- FELT
- CAP
- CRACKED
- SPANGRAM: TOPGEAR
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: Perfect
The “you’re putting me on” theme had me briefly searching for the phrase “just kidding,” which would have made the perfect spangram – but it didn’t even have the letter K in it.
That’s when I decided it must have something to do with clothing instead and after spotting BERET it appeared that the clothing in question was hats.
I managed to spot most of the TOPGEAR during our search, but I wouldn’t have found TOQUE unless it was the last time – although I now know it’s a variation of the humble BEANIE.
