Amateur golfer Kai Trump was on hand this week for one of the sport’s premier events. President Donald Trump’s granddaughter visited the historic Augusta National Golf Club, where she had the opportunity to see up close some of the world’s best golfers competing for the coveted Masters green jacket.

But Trump traveled to Georgia knowing that five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods would be absent. Woods was arrested after a crash in Florida late last month. He then announced he would not compete in this year’s Masters and was granted permission to seek treatment outside the United States.

Trump’s mother, Vanessa, has been publicly linked to Woods romantically. Vanessa supported Woods amid the fallout from his drunk driving arrest, writing “I love you” in an Instagram Story post, which featured a photo of the couple.

Trump, 18, shared highlights of his visit to Augusta National in an Instagram post Thursday, including a photo with LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau and his caddy, Greg Bodine.

“What a special place,” Kai, who will play college golf at Miami, wrote with a heart emoji.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office in Florida said Woods was driving at “a high rate of speed” when his vehicle collided with another car, causing it to flip onto the driver’s side.

Authorities said Woods “is an example of signs of impairment.” He blew “triple zeros” for alcohol but refused to take a urine test.

“DUI investigators came to the scene here, and Mr. Woods showed signs of impairment. They did several tests on him. Of course, he explained the injuries and surgeries he had. We took that into account, but they did extensive road tests,” a sheriff’s department spokesperson said.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges. Before his arrest, he had indicated that he intended to compete in this year’s Masters.
