‘Ride Along 3’: Finally some good news!

‘Ride Along 3’: Finally some good news!

Nearly a decade after fans last saw Ice Cube, Kevin Hart entertained us through another buddy cop adventure, Roll along 3 is once again in early development at Universal, and this time there’s new reason for optimism and caution.

The key ingredient that may have been missing until now is a writer.

Daniel Gold, known for the Netflix and CBC comedy series Working momswas hired to write the screenplay, according to Variety.

Director Tim Story and producer Will Packer, both behind the original films, are also returning.

It’s worth moderating expectations slightly.

THE Roll along The team has been trying to launch a third opus for almost ten years without success.

But the hiring of a screenwriter suggests the project has progressed further than previous attempts, and the business logic for Universal is clear.

The first Roll along grossed $155 million when it opened in 2014, and its 2016 sequel grossed $125 million, two strong performers who demonstrated true chemistry between Hart and Cube.
