A Disney executive has reportedly claimed that Blake Lively’s Hollywood career is “ruined” as she prepares for a high-stakes legal battle with her former co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.
The insider, who reportedly worked with the actress previously, suggested the industry isn’t “shedding tears” over her current legal troubles.
Addressing the Daily Mailthe source claimed that the Gossip Girl The star “made her bed and she can lie in it”, while alleging she had a long-standing reputation for being difficult and thinking she always knew what was best.
The fallout follows a lawsuit Lively filed in December 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation during filming. It ends with us.
Although Baldoni denied the claims and even launched a $400 million countersuit, which was dismissed in June, the legal journey hasn’t been easy for Lively either.
A judge recently dismissed his sexual harassment claims, leaving only three claims to pursue: retaliation, breach of contract and aiding and abetting retaliation.
Baldoni’s legal team expressed relief at the court’s decision, noting that it was grateful for the careful consideration of what it called “very serious allegations.”
Lively’s lawyers rejected the notion that the dismissal of the harassment allegations was a victory for Baldoni.
They argued that the court’s decision was based on Lively being considered an independent contractor rather than an employee, and insisted that this was “not because Defendants did nothing wrong.”
The actress is apparently eager to testify, hoping to use the trial to expose “vicious” forms of online retaliation.
With the two sides failing to reach an agreement, the two sides are now expected to face off in court on May 18.
The procedure has already aroused a lot of interest, especially since the name of Taylor Swift was mentioned several times during the preliminary legal phases.
While it’s not yet clear who will ultimately be called to testify, the industry is closely watching whether the Disney executive’s harsh assessment of Lively’s professional future holds true as the trial begins.
