Buckingham Palace has released a special letter from Queen Camilla amid reports that royal aides and the Sussex camp have been in touch to resolve some issues ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s visit to Australia.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to leave on Tuesday and there has been some “trepidation” surrounding the matter. However, the palace is now working to refocus its attention on the royal family, as it shared a letter written by the Queen Consort.
The Queen sent her regards to singer and actress Dame Elaine Paige who received a major honor this year.
“I was delighted to learn that you will be receiving this year’s special award at the 2026 Olivier Awards,” the message read. “I can think of no more appropriate recipient: over the decades of your career, your talent, commitment and generosity of spirit have made you a truly defining figure in musical theater. »
She noted that Elaine has “simply brought immense joy to countless people around the world and we are all in your debt.”
Camilla also made a point of recognizing the kind gesture Elaine made of serenading a patient a few years ago as she witnessed the scene as she called her a star.
The wife of King Charles has been a staunch supporter of the monarch during this difficult phase as the royal family faces a multitude of scandals and controversies. Camilla offered support whenever needed.
Although the letter was intended to honor a distinguished artist, it also served as a distraction to members of the royal family, who were reportedly worried about how the Australian visit was going.
