‘The Bridgertons’ Star Phoebe Dynevor Breaks Silence on Return

Dear Bridgeton fans: Daphne hasn’t ghosted the ton – she just hasn’t been invited back…yet.

Phoebe Dynevor, who directed the first season of The Bridgerton Chronicles alongside Regé-Jean Page, sets the record straight on his notable absence.

“I just want to say I haven’t gotten a call,” she shared, “and when I get that call, I’ll be there if I can.”

Translation: the duchess is reserved… but available.

After a brief appearance in season two — where Daphne offered some sisterly wisdom to Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony — the character quietly disappeared as the series moved on to the love lives of other siblings.

According to Dynevor, this wasn’t exactly part of a grand plan.

“When the first season came out, they didn’t know what to put in place,” she explained. “So we were like the ones who ran away, I think, in a way…I would always come back if asked.”

So yes, it is open Very open.

As for her on-screen husband, things are a little more complicated – Page has been less keen to take Simon back. But don’t expect a plot twist.

Showrunner Jess Brownell quickly shut down the idea, calling it a “disservice” to what the original cast built.

“We’d love to potentially get them back…when we have something really meaty for them.”

For now, future seasons are already scheduled – but if Daphne returns, it’ll be worth the wait.
