Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones join forces for Disney’s next big animated feature, Bewitchedwhich will be released in theaters this fall, on November 25.
The news was shared during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation on Thursday, where the studio revealed that the original film would follow the story of an eccentric teenage girl and her “Type A” mother.
The plot centers on the couple’s discovery that the girl’s traits are actually a form of hidden magic, a revelation that ultimately transports them both to a fantasy world where magic can be expressed freely.
Steinfeld, an Oscar nominee known for her roles in Real courage and the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse series, will star alongside Jones, a fan favorite from Parks and Recreation And On the rocks.
Beyond the revelation of BewitchedDisney took advantage of its stay in Las Vegas to present a packed list of upcoming projects to theater owners.
Exhibitors were treated to exclusive images of several highly anticipated titles, including the live-action remake of Moana, The devil wears Prada 2And Toy Story 5.
The studio also revealed its next major superhero entry, Avengers: Apocalypsespecifying that even if original stories like Bewitched are a priority, the company continues to lean heavily on its larger cinematic universes to entice audiences back to the big screen.
