De’Longhi has launched a new coffee maker that “learns” which drinks you prefer at particular times of the day and offers to prepare them for you with a simple touch on its color touch screen. The De’Longhi Primadonna Aromatic offers a menu of over 30 different drink options, but rather than requiring you to scroll through a long list of coffee variations, it puts your usual orders front and center for quick access.
Best of all, these quick recommendations change based on the time of day. So, if you like to start your morning with a double espresso and enjoy a latte at lunch, the right option will be displayed directly on the screen. Think of it as a friendly barista who always remembers your regular order and can prepare it without you even asking.
I tested the Primadonna Aromatic after it launched in the UK last year and loved this clever feature, which can be a huge time saver. That’s no problem if you and your partner enjoy different drinks: the machine lets you create up to four different profiles, each maintaining its own record of the owner’s preferences.

The Primadonna Aromatic also incorporates all the fundamentals, brewing consistently delicious espresso and customizing its own brew settings based on your chosen coffee beans. There’s a large capacity bean hopper on top, but you can choose to bypass it and use a measure of pre-ground coffee if you prefer, which is very handy if you want to switch to decaf in the afternoon for example.
The machine can prepare hot and cold milk and has an advanced milk foam system that can produce hot or cold milk foam using either dairy or a plant-based alternative. It performed exceptionally well in my testing and produced one of the best latte macchiatos I’ve had from a home coffee maker (perfect for summer).
