Ryan Reynolds praises Blake Lively for handling Justin Baldoni trial

Ryan Reynolds has come to the passionate defense of his wife Blake Lively as their high-profile legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues to play out in public, fending off reports that the lawsuit has damaged her reputation in Hollywood.

THE dead Pool star, 49, told Willie Geist during a live taping of Sunday session that he had never felt so proud of anyone.

“I’ve never been more proud of someone with that level of integrity who brings that with him and carries it with him in everything he does,” he said.

When asked how the couple was coping with the fallout, Reynolds was measured but firm.

“People have no idea what’s really going on, you know? You really see some kind of illusion behind so many things, you know? Digital life versus real life.”

His comments came in direct response to a wave of negative press around Lively, 38, including an article in the Daily Mail in which an anonymous Disney executive claimed the lawsuit had “ruined her in Hollywood,” adding that she “had a reputation for being difficult.”

The same report suggested that Reynolds and Lively were considering moving to the UK so she could rebuild her profile there.

Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation stemming from his time on the set of It ends with us.

Baldoni, 42, denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit, which was dismissed in June.

Earlier this month, a federal judge dismissed ten of Lively’s thirteen complaints, including sexual harassment allegations, on legal and technical grounds, although her retaliation case goes to trial on May 18.

Lively addressed the decision on Instagram, making it clear that she hadn’t wanted to take legal action but felt she had no choice.

“The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit, but I filed this action because of the pervasive REPRISAL I have faced, and have continued to do, for demanding, privately and professionally, a safe working environment for myself and others,” she wrote.

With settlement negotiations having failed, the two sides are now on track for a legal showdown next month.
