ISLAMABAD:
A total of 664 candidates have filed nomination papers for the Gilgit-Baltistan general elections scheduled for June 7, 2026.
Candidates will stand for election in 24 constituencies in the region. Gilgit-2 constituency attracted the highest number of candidates, with 58 candidates, while Diamer-4 has the lowest number, with 11 candidates in the fray.
In Gilgit district, 34 candidates filed applications for Gilgit-1, 58 for Gilgit-2 and 32 for Gilgit-3. In Nagar, 38 candidates are in the fray for Nagar-1 and 30 for Nagar-2.
The Hunza constituency alone attracted 38 candidates.
