2026 NFL Draft Odds: Back Big Ten to Have an Even Bigger First Round

NEWYou can now listen to PK Press Club articles!

If you’re looking for NFL Draft bets 24 hours before the first round, I have some harsh realities for you: The pickings are slim. The numbers have moved. The juice from these bets can get out of control.

But don’t worry. I still have a few playable bets left today.

David Bailey second draft pick

Tongues. Tongues. Tongues.

This is how the chances of the second pick in this draft have evolved over the last 48 hours. Ohio State’s Arvell Reese was nearly -300 away from being the No. 2 pick in the draft earlier this week. Then Bailey overtook him and became the favorite. Now, we’re back to Reese as I write this, so targeting Bailey is worth the gamble, with the number still playable.

I have a draft guy who has been perfect over the years, including picking Travon Walker as the first pick in the draft in 2022. He told me a month ago that he thought the Jets took Bailey with that pick. I bet on this outcome.

You can follow me or mutter under your breath that I’m an idiot and don’t know anything.

Schematically, drafting Bailey second makes sense. The Jets need immediate passing help and Bailey is an edge defender. Reese is a fantastic football player, but he’s a hybrid player at the moment. Do the Jets want someone who needs to grow into the position rather than a passer who is more traditional and ready now?

This is why I like Bailey to finish second overall.

PICK: David Bailey, No. 2 NFL Draft Pick

Over 11.5 Big Ten players drafted in first round

The Big Ten has at least 10 players in the first round — four from Ohio State, two from Oregon, two from Indiana and one player each from USC, Washington and Penn State.

I’m not a math major, but that’s 11 Big Ten players who have a good chance of being called to the stage Thursday.

The question is who will be 12th in the peloton.

Will it be D’Angelo Ponds or Kayden McDonald? Maybe Gabe Jacus is a surprise first-round pick? I just need one to win the bet.

Out of everything available right now, this one is playable.

PICK: Over 11.5 Big Ten players drafted in first round (+144)
