  • Publication delayed by two months of medical report: Israeli Prime Minister.
  • A measure aimed at preventing Iran from spreading “propaganda”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Friday he had successfully received treatment for early-stage prostate cancer, without specifying when the treatment took place.

In a statement on social media to mark the release of his annual medical report, Netanyahu, 76, said an early-stage malignancy was discovered during a routine examination. According to him, “targeted treatment” eliminated “the problem” and left no trace.

According to the medical report, which also indicated that the prime minister was in good health, Netanyahu was treated with radiotherapy for early-stage prostate cancer.

Neither the medical report nor Netanyahu indicates when the treatment took place.

Israel’s longest-serving prime minister said he delayed the release of the medical report by two months to prevent Iran from spreading “false propaganda against Israel.”

In March, during the fighting with Iran, rumors circulating on social media and carried by Iranian state media claimed that Netanyahu was dead.

The Israeli leader recorded a video of himself visiting a Jerusalem cafe in March to refute these claims.

Netanyahu underwent prostate surgery in 2024 after being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection resulting from benign prostate enlargement. In 2023, he was fitted with a pacemaker. Elections are expected to take place in Israel by October.
