Prince William and Princess Kate are ready to begin the next chapter of their lives as royal protocol for Wales is set to change in a major way.
The Prince and Princess of Wales moved into their new home, Forest Lodge, towards the end of last year, symbolizing their intention to do things differently for their children.
“It seems like the perfect fit for them and the palace seems to be making it clear that this is where they are going to base themselves for years to come,” said royal biographer Katie Nicholl. The Mirror.
“It’s ideally close to Windsor and close enough to London when they need to be there for work,” she continued, adding that Forest Lodge is also closer to Kate’s parents.
William and Kate also lived at Kensington Palace and still have their Apartment 1A as an alternative residence, but Forest Lodge represents a transition.
Katie pointed out that the new Windsor house will be more like them. She describes that they would enjoy “muddy boots outside, dogs and children running in and out of the garden, something delicious cooking on the stove and probably kitchen surfaces covered in flour during one of the baking sessions they love” in complete privacy.
She stressed that William and Kate could never allow cameras into their “forever home” because it would protect their peace and privacy; also draws a line between work and personal life.
This is what they want to implement when William becomes king while protecting children’s privacy.
