Adam Scott knows exactly how Breakup ends, and he doesn’t say it.
The actor, who is both star and executive producer of the Apple TV+ phenomenon, confirmed that he has a firm handle on every detail of the series’ direction, including its eventual conclusion.
“I’m involved in all of this. We’re talking to the writers and Dan [Erickson] all the time. I know everything that’s going on,” he said.
“As an actor, I like to have as much information as possible.”
As for season three, Scott was excited about what’s to come.
“It’s going to be great. There are so many surprises. I can’t wait to shoot it,” he said.
The new season will take place without director Ben Stiller at the helm, although Scott was quick to reassure fans that Stiller remains closely involved with the series.
More than two years have passed since season two ended, the cast is ready to return.
“We are all looking forward to going home. We miss each other.”
Scott talked about landing the role of Mark Scout, a role he clearly really wanted.
“It’s an incredible role in an incredible world. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted to do,” he said.
“When I read the script, first of all, I thought, ‘I’m probably not going to get this job. But if I do, if I manage to get it, it’ll be because I’ve earned this over the last 30 years.'”
He only auditioned once, which he is grateful for. “The more you do it, the more likely you are to screw it up.”
