Tottenham Hotspur striker Dominic Solanke could be out for the remainder of the Premier League season.

The England international injured his hamstring in the weekend’s win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, leaving Roberto De Zerbi with a growing availability crisis amid a relegation battle.

Hamstring pain for Solanke

Doubts have been cast over Solanke’s involvement in Tottenham’s crucial Premier League match due to the hamstring injury he suffered against Wolves.

According to The Telegraph, initial scans suggest the striker may have suffered a grade 2 hamstring injury, which could take between three and eight weeks to recover from.

It opens the nightmarish possibility that Solanke will join the list of Spurs players who will not play again this season, although the relegation-threatened club are yet to confirm the extent of his injury.

The list of injured continues to grow

Despite winning their first league match of 2026 against Wolves, Spurs remain in the relegation zone, two points behind West Ham United.

Xavi Simons will miss the remainder of the season and is expected to be out for at least seven months after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the game against Wolves and undergoing surgery, meaning he is unlikely to play again until December.

Besides Simons and the doubts over Solanke, De Zerbi is already without Mohammed Kudus, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert and Cristian Romero for the rest of the season.

James Maddison is also still waiting for his first minutes after returning to training after a year with two knee injuries, leaving the team paper-thin for the battles ahead.

De Zerbi faces selection nightmare

De Zerbi will address Solanke’s fitness during his press conference on Friday and will no doubt hope that the 28-year-old can play an active role in the race.

Tottenham’s final four games are on Sunday against Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton.

Losing another striker in one of these matches would be a significant setback for De Zerbi.

The match against Chelsea has been postponed to Tuesday 19 May due to the Stamford Bridge club’s participation in the FA Cup final on Saturday 16 May.

World Cup dreams in jeopardy

A season-ending injury would also be a blow to Solanke’s hopes of playing at the World Cup with England as Harry Kane’s deputy.

The striker is reportedly in contention for a place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad, but a lengthy absence would force the German coach to look elsewhere.
