Countess Athéna de Monpezat entered a new chapter in her life, celebrating a milestone surrounded by her family in Washington, DC.
The 14-year-old daughter of Princess Marie of Denmark and Prince Joachim of Denmark was confirmed Saturday at the Georgetown Lutheran Church, gracefully marking the important rite of passage.
Newly released photographs shared by the Danish royal family captured a confident Athena, who only recently celebrated her birthday in January.
Her parents stood proudly by her side, with Prince Joachim in a navy blue suit and Princess Marie in a bright floral dress.
Her older brother, Count Henrik de Monpezat, 16, appeared in a warm portrait with his younger sister, while her half-brothers, Count Nicolas de Monpezat and Count Félix de Monpezat, joined the celebration in elegant suits.
This celebration comes as the family continues their lives in the United States, having moved to Washington, DC in 2023 to support Prince Joachim’s diplomatic role.
