IHC reserves verdict on NA plea

“The President’s decision states that information regarding the proceedings of a session cannot be provided”

ISLAMABAD:

The IHC on Tuesday reserved its verdict on a petition filed by the National Assembly Secretariat challenging an order of the Information Commission of Pakistan regarding provision of details of parliamentary standing committees.

Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the case. Lawyer Hafiz Arafat, advisor to the National Assembly Secretariat, argued in court that details of Assembly sessions or standing committees cannot be provided, adding that there is also a President’s decision on the matter.

“The President’s decision states that information regarding the proceedings of a session cannot be provided,” the lawyer argued.
