Last August, when the NASCAR Cup Series took place on the Watkins Glen road course, Shane van Gisbergen took the checkered flag.
Now, SVG finds itself at the top of the odds board to win again when the series takes place at Bowling at The Glen on Sunday, May 10 (3 p.m. ET, FS1).

The favorite: Last year at Watkins Glen, Shane van Gisbergen finished eighth in Stage 1, 22nd in Stage 2 and led 38 laps the day before entering Victory Lane. And as things stand, SVG could win; the driver of the No. 97 car has yet to win in 2026. He is also 19th in the standings. However, he has two top 10s this year and one top five. Bettors may also want to note that van Gisbergen has won five of six NASCAR road courses in 2025 and finished second at COTA earlier this year.
One to watch: Another driver fans may want to keep an eye on is Ryan Blaney. At The Glen in 2025, Blaney won the pole, finished seventh in the first stage, won the second stage and finished the race sixth overall after leading 35 laps. This year, the number 12’s track record includes seven top 10 finishes, three top-five finishes and one victory. He is currently fourth in the rankings.
