Harry Kane has equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s incredible UEFA Champions League record by scoring in six consecutive knockout matches.

However, the striker’s historic goal was not enough to save Bayern Munich from elimination.

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the final with a 6-5 aggregate victory, extending Kane’s wait for elusive European glory.

Historic record for Kane

Kane became only the second player in history to score in six Champions League knockout matches, matching the impressive feat achieved by Ronaldo between 2012 and 2013.

The England striker scored a spectacular 94th-minute goal in a 1-1 draw against defending champions Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena. Despite their late heroics and an earlier penalty in the 5-4 first-leg defeat, Bayern suffered a heartbreaking exit.

The German giants were eliminated by an aggregate score of 6-5, sending their French opponents into the final.

The European dream put on hold

Kane left his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur for Bayern Munich with the main ambition of securing a major European trophy.

Although the Bavarians finally reached the semi-finals this season after being knocked out in the quarter-finals in their previous two campaigns, the ultimate prize unfortunately remains elusive for the prolific striker.

Kane had previously only reached one Champions League final during his time at Tottenham, where his side suffered a painful defeat to Liverpool.

Despite a spectacular individual campaign with 56 goals in 49 matches, he must now wait around nine months to resume his quest.

Defending champions qualify for Budapest

While the Bavarians lament their missed opportunities, PSG celebrate a hard-fought progression to defend their crown.

The visitors took an early lead through Ousmane Dembélé after just three minutes, forcing Bayern to chase the match.

Despite dominating possession with 66 percent and a total of 18 shots saved, the hosts were unable to overcome the deficit.

The reigning champions will now travel to Budapest for the highly anticipated Champions League final, where they will face Arsenal.

The English team managed to overtake Atlético Madrid to book their place in the showpiece event.

The national finals await you

Bayern Munich must quickly refocus to try to end their season on a good note.

Having already officially won the Bundesliga title, the club still has two league matches remaining.

Additionally, they will face Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final on May 23, providing Kane with an opportunity for national glory.
