Security forces kill five terrorists in Tank, Dera Ismail Khan IBO: ISPR

It says four terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire in Tank; one was neutralized during Operation DI Khan

Security forces killed five terrorists belonging to the ‘Indian sponsored group’. Fitna-al-Khwarij» in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing announced on Friday.

The state uses the term Fitna al-Khawarij to refer to terrorists belonging to the banned group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

According to a press release published by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations took place between Wednesday and Thursday,

The first was conducted in Tank district over the reported presence of terrorists.

“During the conduct of the operation, our own troops actually engaged in combat. khwarij place and after intense exchanges of fire, four khwarijbelonging to an Indian sponsored group Fitna-al-Khwarijwere sent to hell,” the statement said.

The other IBO took place in Dera Ismail Khan district, where a terrorist was killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.

The ISPR added that arms and ammunition were also recovered, adding that the slain terrorists were actively involved in many militant activities in the area.

“A disinfection operation is underway to eliminate any other Kharji found in the region, while the relentless anti-terrorism campaign carried out under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ (as approved by the Supreme Federal Committee on National Action Plan) by the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to eliminate the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” he concluded.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated security forces for the successful operations.

President Zardari appreciated the professional capabilities of the security forces in eliminating the five terrorists.

“Operations against the scourge of terrorism must continue until its complete eradication from the country,” the President reportedly said, adding that the successful actions against “India-backed terrorist elements” reflected the resolve of the nation.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz said that security forces are achieving major successes in the fight against terrorism.

“The entire nation stands with the Pakistani armed forces in this war against terrorism,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that the nation was united against terrorism and would not rest until its complete eradication from the country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the security forces.

“The nation views the successes of Pakistan’s courageous security forces with eyes full of appreciation. Operations will continue until the last Indian-sponsored terrorist and facilitator is eliminated,” he said.
