Caitlin Clark’s surprise outing with Morgan Wallen to start her concert at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night drew mixed reviews from WNBA fans, given that the Indiana Fever dropped its season opener at home.
Clark and the Fever failed to defeat the Dallas Wings in a 107-104 loss to start the 2026 WNBA season.
But Clark, who had 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds despite the loss, wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to bow out with the famous country music star during his signing debut at his shows.

The crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium roared for Clark, who entered the frame with Wallen as they marched into the bowels of the arena.

CAITLIN CLARK MISSES GAME-TIING 3 IN LAST SECONDS DURING COLD SHOOT PERFORMANCE COMING BACK FROM INJURY
“I’m sorry…you didn’t come back on defense and [Wings star] Paige [Bueckers] leaves you with 20. Plus you miss a 3 at the end and take an L. Do better,” one X user wrote.
Clark had a potential game-tying three-point chance with seven seconds left, but she missed it.
Others had issues with Clark being with Wallen, as he created controversy after he was recorded saying a racial slur on camera in 2021.

“She’s going off with a racist? That’s not very pretty,” another X user wrote.
But it wasn’t all critical responses in the comments, as one user called Clark and Wallen “Two GOATS.”
Even her Fever bandmate Sophie Cunningham loved seeing Clark at the concert, calling her a “bada—b—-” on her Instagram Story.
While Clark and the Fever certainly hope to be more on the winning side in 2026, fans should be happy that Clark played a team-high in minutes after dealing with numerous injuries that limited her to just 13 games in 2025.

“It goes off the rails pretty quickly,” Clark said of his comeback after the loss, according to the New York Post. “So just that, just straighten my back out a little bit. But other than that, I feel good.”
The Fever are back in action Wednesday on the West Coast, as they take on the Los Angeles Sparks.
