Tom Brady made a surprise appearance at the Kia Forum on Sunday night to get revenge on Kevin Hart, taking the stage during Netflix’s live roast of the comedian to deliver a series of pointed personal jabs.
The retired NFL quarterback, who himself was the subject of a highly publicized roast in 2024, didn’t hold back while kicking off the final night of the Netflix is a joke festival.
Brady wasted no time referencing Hart’s past personal scandals, joking that he needed to get back to his “Las Vegas adventures” before asking the crowd if he wasn’t supposed to mention Las Vegas affairs, a direct nod to Hart’s admitted infidelity while in the city in 2017.
The onstage tension was high-energy and comical, especially since Hart spent the moments before Brady’s entrance calling the athlete a “bitch” and claiming that his own roast would be much better because he could handle the heat.
Brady stopped the ranting host almost immediately after he entered, asking, “Jesus, have you shut the fuck up yet?”
He then delivered a particularly low blow regarding Hart’s family history, telling the comedian that unlike his real father, he had shown up for him.
The appearance felt like a much-anticipated return for Brady, who had to endure a barrage of jokes from Hart and others on his own TV show last year.
Brady, now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Aces WNBA team, played his role as a “busy man” while proving he could deploy the same level of vitriol he had previously received.
He mocked Hart for apparently never leaving the Forum and just “yelling into that mic” for the past two years while waiting for “daddy to come home.”
The event, hosted by Shane Gillis and broadcast live from Los Angeles, featured an intensive line-up of talent ready to take on Hart, including Chelsea Handler, Pete Davidson, Tiffany Haddish and Regina Hall.
While the evening was filled with professional roasters, it was Brady’s unexpected arrival and willingness to “break the rules” of polite conversation that set the tone for the evening.
Despite the harshness of the jokes, the exchange remained in the spirit of the festival, closing the comedy marathon with one of its most publicized clashes.
