Orders provincial and district authorities to remain on alert and ensure emergency preparedness measures

The National Disaster Management Authority on Tuesday released detailed weather forecasts for the period May 12-17, warning of widespread rain, thunderstorms, hailstorms, flash floods and landslides in several parts of the country.

According to the NDMA, the current weather conditions are in line with seasonal forecasts issued three to four months earlier for the April-June period, adding that advance warnings had already indicated the possibility of severe weather activities during the current season.
