Ritter supports Pakistan for Nobel Prize

Ritter described Pakistan as “the only possible game” capable of helping bring the crisis toward a final resolution.

Former UN weapons inspector and ex-US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role in the current regional tensions, saying Islamabad remains at the heart of efforts to secure a breakthrough between Iran and the United States.

Speaking on lead anchor Fahd Hussain’s ‘Full Frame’ show on Express 24/7, Ritter described Pakistan as “the only game in town” capable of helping bring the crisis towards a final resolution.

“I would first like to commend Pakistan for its leadership on this issue,” Ritter said, adding that Pakistan’s leadership deserved international recognition for its mediation efforts. “If ever there was anyone who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize, it is the Pakistani leaders who played this vital role who deserve it,” he remarked.

Ritter — who served as a U.N. weapons inspector in Iraq in the 1990s and frequently comments on U.S. foreign policy and Middle East affairs — urged the international community to support Pakistan economically and politically after the conflict.
