- Insta360 Unveils Go 3S “Retro Bundle” for Its Thumb-Sized 4K Action Camera
- The pack includes a new optical viewfinder and is available in two colors
- It costs $300 / £279 / AU$470 (64GB) or $320 / £299 AU$500 (128GB)
Insta360 has revealed one of the wackiest camera kits for 2026: a “Retro Bundle” edition of its thumb-sized 4K camera, the Go 3S.
We consider the original the best “small” 4K action camera: it’s really tiny and can fit into spaces no other camera can, or be installed for athletes, etc. for a first person POV of the action.
But unlike the original, which came with a dock with a flip-out LCD screen for composing images and a remote control, the retro version looks more like a Polaroid.
You get the 4K camera, which also takes 12MP photos, in one of two colorways, with a matching optical viewfinder dock instead.
The waist-level viewfinder reflects the front view for composing photos, is fully optical, and doubles as a selfie mirror.
And if it wasn’t obvious from the photos, the camera itself doesn’t have a screen, just a single button. That’s right, it’s a 4K digital video camera without any screen, just the button – it’s as retro as digital video cameras come.
A single press of the camera button starts video recording, a double press takes a photo, etc., but if you need more control, that’s where the Insta360 app comes in.
The camera can still be paired with a smartphone via the Insta360 app, through which users can control the camera remotely.
And it’s still the same Go 3S, with its unique little body and video/photo capabilities, just wrapped in a different skin that’s sure to please film enthusiasts – call it the Polaroid-style video camera!
Insta360 sells a leather case for the retro pack, which has a different aesthetic and looks like an odd combination, but it looks good on its own – you can see it in the gallery above.
The Go 3S Retro Bundle costs $300 / £279 / AU$470 for the 64GB version or $320 / £299 / AU$500 for the 128GB version. The latter seems like the obvious choice: you’ll need as much internal storage as possible since there’s no card slot.
If you already own the Go 3S and like the sound of the retro viewfinder, the viewfinder part can be purchased separately for $48 / £46 / AU$80, which is nice to see.
