Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has a message for those who criticize New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and former The Athletic reporter Dianna Russini.

Irvin, 60, said people need to look in the mirror and see their own problems before taking it out on others.

“We all want to get into personal life,” Irvin said during a recent appearance on “The Ariel Helwani Show.”

“Man, if I take a look at your history, I’m sure it will tell me something. We all forget that we’ve done stupid things when we talk about someone else, and then we want to castrate and kill them.”

The Dallas Cowboys legend said people don’t know what they’re dealing with, but they’re going for Vrabel and Russini.

“Life happens,” Irvin said. “We try to use football people as a measure of all justice. And then we act like, ‘I can’t believe this person did this.’ He’s a person and people do things. Sometimes it’s not good, but we’re not at their house. »

“We don’t know what they’re dealing with. And we want to sit here and say, ‘Man, they shouldn’t be doing this.’ You don’t know what they’re dealing with. Get out of it. Leave him alone. It’s none of your business.”

Vrabel married Jen in 1999 and they have two sons together. Russini married her husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, in 2020, and they share two children together.

The couple was seen holding hands and kissing at a luxury hotel in Arizona in March, and photos of their interaction were first published in April. After the initial report, Vrabel said the photos showed a “completely innocent interaction and any suggestion to the contrary was laughable.”

“The photos do not depict the group of six people who were hanging out together during the day,” Russini said.

More photos have leaked of the couple seen together.

Russini has since resigned from The Athletic. Vrabel stepped away from the team indefinitely during the final round of the NFL draft to seek counseling and be with his family.
