NYT Strands today (game #803) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #803, are…
- OTTER
- BADGER
- FERRET
- MARTEN
- POLE
- WOLVERINE
- SPANGRAM: MUSTELIDES
- My rating: Hard
- My rating: 1 clue
This theme was confusing: was this some sort of reference to Elmer Fudd? Or were we looking for animals similar to weasels.
Unable to find anything related to either, I took a hint and OTTER pointed me in the right direction.
I then bought BADGER and realized the type of animals we were looking for, although it wasn’t until I finally got the spangram that I learned that all of today’s words belong to a family of animals called MUSTELIDS, grouped together because of their carnivorous diet and long bodies with short legs. I don’t think Elmer qualifies in either category.
Yesterday’s NYT Strands Answers (Thursday May 14, Thu #802)
- ARCHERY
- DISGUISE
- FOREST
- BROTHER
- TO FORBID
- SHERIFF
- SPANGRAM: ROBINHOOD
