Tehreek-e-insaf Pakistani leader (PTI), Sher Afzal Marwat, was acquitted by a district and hearing court in Islamabad in a case linked to a fight at the Supreme Court.
The verdict, which was reserved after the hearings on Marwat’s acquittal advocacy, was announced on Saturday.
The court rejected all the expenses chosen against Marwat and its co-accused Fatahullah Baraki, involved in a registered incident at the police station of the secretariat.
In October 2023, Sher Afzal Marwat was charged in a case involving a fight at the Supreme Court.
The case was filed by agent Javed Humayun at the Police Police Police of the Secretariat in Islamabad.
In his FIR, the agent said that Sher Afzal Marwat had physically attacked him in the parking lot of the Supreme Court and had uttered serious threats to him.
The FIR also said that Marwat had tried to crush it with a vehicle.
In addition, in December 2023, an FIR was recorded against Sher Afzal Khan Marwat and workers for organizing a workers’ agreement in Swabi. The authorities arrested 21 local PTI and others for violation of article 144.
In addition, in September 2023, Islamabad police arrested lawyer Gohar Ali Khan, president of the PTI, and deputy Sher Afzal Marwat, member of the National Assembly (MNA), before the Parliament following a session of the National Assembly.
According to Express News, a strong police presence had gathered in anticipation before the Parliament.
While the PTI leaders left the building, the police took a stand and quickly moved to arrest Marwat.
A fight would have exploded between the supporters of Marwat and the police during the arrest of Marwat.
However, the police managed to surround and apprehend the deputy, entering his vehicle before leaving the premises.
