Bangladesh High Commissioner in Pakistan, Mohammad Iqbal Hussain, announced his intention to start direct air services between Bangladesh and Pakistan, further strengthening bilateral links.
Speaking on Saturday at a press conference in Peshawar, Hussain underlined the deep and historical relations between the two countries and expressed the intention of initiating direct flights to facilitate travel and connectivity.
He noted that such a decision would improve cooperation in various sectors, including tourism, education and trade.
The High Commissioner also underlined growing trade and diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan, declaring that these links would continue to strengthen.
He underlined Bangladesh’s commitment to freedom of expression, noting how social media allowed the young generation to express their rights, contributing to a robust culture of freedom of expression in the country.
In addition, Hussain underlined the vast investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially in the health and labor sectors, encouraging companies to explore these avenues.
He also mentioned the request for Bangladais products in Pakistan, the current trade between the two nations via shipping routes connecting Chittagong and Karachi, although the volume remains modest.
The High Commissioner also addressed the next elections in Bangladesh and reiterated the emphasis put by his country on economic development as a key priority.
He concluded by congratulating Pakistan’s Air Force for his exceptional abilities in the defense sector.
