Vought Rising is the next spin-off that will continue to fly the flag for The boys‘ live-action universe. Indeed, with the main series coming to an end after five seasons and its live-action Generation V with the offshoot canceled after two installments, it will be up to this Jensen Ackles-led series to keep fans engaged in Amazon’s satirical world of superheroes.

Vought RisingThe release date has not been publicly revealed. However, in April, Deadline reported that it will be released on Prime Video, aka one of the best streaming services, sometime in 2027. That means it could arrive three years after its official announcement in mid-2024.
When do I think it will launch? It’s hard to say. Most of Prime Video’s remaining projects for 2026 don’t have a release date, much less those expected to premiere next year. That said, with three of The boys“With five seasons releasing in June or July in the last seven years, I wouldn’t bet against a June or July 2027 launch.

Here is the confirmed casting for Vought Rising so far :
- Jensen Ackles as Soldier

- Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel
- Will Hochman as Torpedo
Of the quintet above, we’ve already met the first three.
Ackles’ Soldier Boy featured in The boys‘ the last three seasons (although his appearance in season 4 is via a post-credits cameo). Cash’s Liberty, who we knew as Stormfront in The boyswas one of the main villains in the show’s second season, and then had a small role to play in season 3. During this time, Dye’s Bombsight played a very minor but significant role in The boys season 5 episode 6.
As for Posey and Hochman, they were confirmed to the cast in August 2025. We don’t know what superpowers they will possess, but given Torpedo’s name, I would expect this Supe to have a water-based skill set like The Deep. The boys.
Given Vought RisingOn The Boys timeline – more on that shortly – I would expect other characters we know to appear at some point.
On the one hand, Frederick Vought, aka the founder of Vought International and creator of the Supe-making serum known as Compound V, is a must-have. He never showed up The boysso we don’t yet know which actor could play him.
Ethan Slater’s Thomas Godolkin, who was eventually revealed to be Generation V The main villain of season 2 is also expected to appear. He was Vought’s right-hand man, so he should also participate in the debates.
Finally, if part of this ramification is located in the present, that is to say after The boys Season 5 finale – again, I’ll explain more in the plot section below – we also get to see individuals like Giancarlo Esposito’s Stan Edgar. Vought Rising Story Synopsis and Rumors

Here is the incredibly brief plot synopsis of Vought Rising: “Set in the 1950s, the prequel series explores the twisted origins of Vought International.”
So there’s not much to say, but there are some things we already know about its history.
For starters, it will be set in the 1950s, explore the origins of Vought International, and cover the events surrounding the creation of Compound V and the first superhumans. By Deadline, its story will also revolve around a “twisted murder mystery.”
Eric Kripke, supervisor of The Boys franchise, explained to The Hollywood Reporter (THR): “We’re also trying to do a very realistic version of the ’50s. Most people’s feelings or memories of the ’50s come from movies, which are very sanitized. Even LA Confidentialas much as I love it, it is, visually, a fairly uncluttered film. We wanted dirty and grimy. There would be heroin dens, gay bars, and that underbelly of the popular culture of the time. So exploring all of that is also great. »
Little is known about how four of them Vought RisingThe five Supes, including Liberty, will be taken into account in its history. Still, Ackles hinted at what we can expect from Soldier Boy. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ackles said: “In The boysin modern times, [Soldier Boy is] a fish out of water. He’s an analog guy trapped in a digital world. So now we see him in his element. We see… what made him who he was.
But will we also see Soldier Boy today? After all, he is still alive – albeit in cryogenic sleep – at the end of The boys‘fifth and final season. And, with Vought International back under Edgar’s control following the conclusion of the main show, manufacturing megacorporation Supe is still up and running. It is then possible that Vought Rising could have a double meaning — that is, it would be linked to the founding of the company in the 1950s, but it could also imply that we will see Vought rise from the ashes after the events of Boys 5.
While speaking with Deadline, Kripke responded “no comment” when asked if Vought Rising would take place across two timelines (the 1950s and today), but we all know that’s usually code for “yes.” So, don’t be surprised if Soldier Boy is thawed again and, at Edgar’s request, helps revive Vought’s fortunes as the company’s new poster boy.
Will Vought Rising have a second season?
As expected, there’s nothing official to report on this front yet. But for what it’s worth, says Ackles Collider that “the intention is to make this a multi-season show,” so more seasons are likely in the works.
As with any TV show these days, especially those made for the world’s most popular streaming platforms, its future will be decided by viewers. If enough people log in to watch Vought RisingIn the first installment of , Amazon MGM Studios is more likely to greenlight another season than not. Fight for impact, though, and it will play out the same way as Generation V and be deleted in advance.
