Ethan Page was about half a second away from pulling off an incredible upset of Penta and winning the Intercontinental Championship in Saturday night’s main event.

Page gave Penta everything he had. He threw Penta into the exposed turnbuckle and tried to take advantage with a schoolboy roll up. As the referee tried to pull up a turnbuckle, he noticed Page’s pin attempt but only managed two. “All Ego” was upset and got in the referee’s face, allowing Penta to gain the advantage.
Penta avoided Page as he crashed into the ropes and bounced off the middle rope to hit a Mexican Destroyer. He pinned Page for the victory.

Penta has been champion since March 2, after defeating Dominik Mysterio on “Monday Night Raw.” The victory over Page marked his seventh successful title defense, including a six-way match at WrestleMania 42.
Page was impressive throughout the match. He knocked Penta over his head and onto the commentary table mid-match. He got back into the ring but realized he couldn’t win the title if Penta was kicked out.
He stopped the referee’s count of 10 and used the ring posts to his advantage before bringing Penta back into the ring. But the Mexican top flight was too much to handle.
