The Supreme Court of Pakistan will announce its verdict on the contempt of court case against the Additional Registrar tomorrow.
The ruling, reserved by a two-member bench comprising Justice Mansoor Ali Shah and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, pertains to alleged violations involving planning of power bench cases.
Previous Thursday, the Supreme Court concluded hearings in the Powers Bench case, with Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarking that Prima Facie, a two-member judicial panel, had neglected a court order.
While the court acknowledged that it could issue contempt notices, it refrained from doing so.
The contempt proceedings arose out of an intra-court appeal where the Additional Registrar alleged that the dates for the hearings had been changed in the official orders.
Originally scheduled for January 27, the hearing date was reportedly moved to January 16, during which a judge recused himself from the bench.
The additional registrar, in his appeal, argued that he had been made a scapegoat, citing procedural violations such as not being given an opportunity to explain his position before the bail notice was issued.
He called for the notice to be declared null and void, saying the principles of natural justice were not upheld.
