From prayers to sacrifices, Muslims around the world celebrate Eid ul Adha

Millions of Muslims around the world celebrate Eid ul Adha with special prayers, family reunions and animal sacrifices.

The festival, also known as the “Feast of Sacrifice,” commemorates the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

From Asia to the Middle East, Europe and Africa, mosques and public places are packed with worshipers offering Eid prayers and exchanging greetings of peace and happiness.

Communities also participate in traditional animal sacrifice, with the meat distributed to relatives, neighbors and those in need.

Governments in several countries have announced public holidays and increased security measures to support the celebrations.
