At least one person lost their lives and seven others were injured on Sunday in an explosion targeting a passenger bus traveling from Khuzdar to Rawalpindi, the authorities said.
Khuzdar’s deputy commissioner, Yasir Iqbal Dashti, reported that the bus, which was circulating on the M-8 motorway, was hit near Khori, about 25 kilometers from the city of Khuzdar.
The wounded, including the driver of the bus who is in critical condition, were quickly transferred to the Khuzdar trauma center to be treated.
Preliminary investigations revealed that an improvised explosive device (IED) had been placed inside a car parked near the highway. Following the incident, the police, including the police and the staff of the border body, completed the area to start their investigation.
The security measures were intensified in Khuzdar and its surroundings in response to the attack, the officials added.
